Dilemma

Why do I overthink everything and how can I stop?

Your mind won’t slow down, even when nothing is wrong.

You Might Feel Like

Your brain never switches off.

You replay conversations and imagine scenarios.

You regret things after they happen.

You feel mentally exhausted.

Why This Happens

Overthinking is not the problem, it’s a symptom.

It often comes from trying to control outcomes.

Your mind believes that if it thinks enough, it can prevent mistakes.

But the more you try to control everything, the more your mind spirals.

A Dharmic Perspective

You have control over action, not over results.

Overthinking begins when you try to control what is not yours to control.

A Different Way to See This

You’re not overthinking, you’re over-attaching.

To outcomes, to certainty, to perfection.

That attachment creates mental noise.

Try This Small Shift

When you notice overthinking, pause and check what is actually in your control.

  • Ask yourself “Is this in my control right now?”
  • If yes, take action
  • If no, consciously let it go

Peace comes when you stop trying to control what isn’t yours.
